World Pickleball League appoints Komerz India for exclusive sponsorship
The World Pickleball League (WPBL), one of India’s fastest-growing sports properties, has appointed Komerz India, the Indian arm of UK-based Komerz Global, as its exclusive sales and sponsorship agency.
The partnership covers central sponsorship assets, commercial rights, and monetisation initiatives across the league’s flagship events and community programmes.
Facilitated by AMP Sports & Entertainment, WPBL’s strategic partner, Komerz India will lead sales, sponsorship, and partnership development, while AMP provides support on strategy and brand alignment.
The collaboration gives brands three main avenues for engagement: visibility and hospitality at Season 2 in Mumbai, year-round involvement through more than 57 WPBL On Tour events, and hyperlocal activations through franchise integrations at city-level tournaments.
Gaurav Natekar, founder and CEO of WPBL, said, “Season 1 of WPBL was an enormous success, and we want to continue our growth trajectory and create long-term and sustainable commercial value for brands, the League, its franchises, and all other stakeholders.” He added that Komerz India brings “dedicated expertise and laser-sharp focus to scaling our sponsorships and partnerships portfolio.”
Amarendra Singh, chief marketing officer at Komerz, commented that the partnership offers “turnkey solutions with marquee visibility, hyperlocal activations, and measurable sponsorship models.”
Indranil Das Blah, founder and CEO of AMP Sports & Entertainment, said the alliance unlocks “limitless commercial potential” across marquee events and WPBL’s extensive footprint.
Geetanjali Bhattacharji, founder and CEO of Glassbox Ventures, noted that WPBL offers brands “unmatched, year-round hyperlocal engagement, far beyond traditional sponsorships, embedding your brand into vibrant communities and lifestyles across India.”
Season 2 of WPBL will take place at Jio World Garden in Mumbai in January 2026, while the WPBL On Tour programme continues to provide grassroots, youth, and community-level engagement.
