Garanti BBVA renews sponsorship with Turkish Basketball Federation for five more years

Garanti BBVA has extended its long-standing partnership with the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) for an additional five years, marking the longest-running sponsorship in Turkish basketball history. The renewal covers all national teams, youth programmes, and the ’12 Dev Adam’ basketball schools.

The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony on January 27, attended by TBF President Hidayet Türkoğlu and Garanti BBVA CEO Mahmut Akten, who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the development of basketball in Turkey.

TBF President Hidayet Türkoğlu described the partnership as a long-term strategic journey, saying, “This is not just a sponsorship; it is a long-term journey and a strategic partnership established with the goal of growing, developing, and carrying Turkish basketball into the future. … Garanti BBVA is one of the most important strategic partners of this vision.”

Garanti BBVA CEO Mahmut Akten highlighted the shared values and community impact of the deal: “We view sports as a powerful force that empowers young people, brings communities together and creates a shared sense of belonging…Our signatures today represent more than just a contract…We will continue to stand by all our teams with the same enthusiasm and determination. We sincerely wish all our national basketball teams every success.”

Over the next five years, Garanti BBVA will maintain its role as the main sponsor for the men’s national team, ‘12 Dev Adam,’ the women’s national team, ‘Potanın Perileri,’ and all youth national teams, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting basketball at every level across Turkey.
