TASI Bank backs BMF basketball tournament to strengthen community engagement
TASI® Bank, headquartered in San Francisco, has announced its corporate sponsorship of the Bhartiya Mandal Foundation’s (BMF) annual basketball tournament, taking place on 15–16 November at The Ultimate Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek. The tournament spans multiple age-group divisions and raises funds to support BMF’s community and cultural initiatives.
Founded in 1973, BMF is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to promoting Indian culture and facilitating charitable programmes across the San Francisco Bay Area. Its board comprises second-generation Indian Americans active in business and civic life, leveraging community connections to deliver initiatives that benefit local organisations, including the San Francisco/Marin Food Bank. Over the years, BMF has raised more than $400,000 (€344,410) through events such as the annual basketball tournament.
Alan Gaul, vice president of marketing and brand at TASI Bank, highlighted the bank’s decade-long involvement with BMF. He emphasised the importance of recognising the contributions of the Gujarati community in the Bay Area while creating meaningful engagement opportunities for local residents.
The sponsorship integrates TASI Bank’s relationship-based approach, reinforcing its focus on supporting small businesses, professionals, and community initiatives. BMF’s tournament allows participants of all ages to connect through sport, while simultaneously funding cultural and charitable projects.
