Volvo Trucks continues partnership with America’s Road Team

Volvo Trucks North America will remain the exclusive sponsor of the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) America’s Road Team through 2026, marking the company’s 24th consecutive year supporting the nationwide safety and outreach programme.

The America’s Road Team recognises professional drivers with exemplary safety records who serve as ambassadors for highway safety, professionalism, and the trucking industry. Every two years, a new class of Captains is selected, collectively logging millions of accident-free miles and engaging communities through schools, career fairs, conferences, ride-alongs, and visits to the White House and state capitals.

Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America, highlighted the Captains’ role in promoting safe driving practices and bridging understanding between truck drivers and the communities they serve. Volvo Trucks supports the programme with a fully equipped all-new Volvo VNL 860, which transports the ATA Interstate One mobile classroom to events nationwide. The truck features advanced safety technologies, including driver assistance systems, occupant protection measures, and innovations designed to reduce accidents and injuries.

Volvo Trucks’ sponsorship demonstrates long-term investment in road safety and professional driver development, reinforcing its brand presence while supporting industry education and advocacy. The company has pioneered safety innovations since 1959, from the three-point seatbelt to electronic stability control, side curtain airbags, and automatic emergency call systems.
