Virgin Media O2 secures 10-year naming rights deal to rebrand Belfast's Odyssey complex

Virgin Media O2 has agreed a landmark 10-year naming rights partnership with The Odyssey Trust, rebranding Belfast's Odyssey complex as The O2 Belfast from 1 July 2026, replacing the existing SSE sponsorship arrangement and bringing Northern Ireland's largest indoor entertainment venue into O2's UK-wide portfolio of 21 venues across 14 cities.

Ticket News reported that the agreement covers the entire Odyssey campus, including the 11,200-capacity arena, Odyssey Place and associated leisure facilities, and also makes O2 the title sponsor of the Belfast Giants, the most successful team in the Elite Ice Hockey League, marking O2's first sponsorship of a Northern Ireland-based sports team.

Gareth Griffiths, director of partnerships and sponsorship at Virgin Media O2, said live music and entertainment is in O2's DNA and that the company could not be more excited to have a new home in Northern Ireland, adding that it looks forward to connecting visitors, enhancing the live experience and leveraging the power of O2's network and Priority benefits for customers at the largest arena in Northern Ireland.

Paul McMahon, chief executive of The Odyssey Trust, said the partnership marks an exciting new chapter and reflects a shared ambition to deliver world-class experiences for the people of Northern Ireland and beyond, adding that both organisations look forward to building on the site's strong reputation and ensuring the best experience for all who visit the campus.

As part of the deal, O2 customers will gain access to Priority Tickets pre-sale access for all shows at The O2 Belfast from 1 July, 48 hours before general release. Virgin Media O2 also plans to upgrade connectivity at the site through the deployment of its own fibre network, O2 WiFi and 5G coverage.
