Industry NewsVhi extends Women's Mini Marathon title sponsorship through to 2031
Irish health insurer Vhi has renewed its title sponsorship of the Women's Mini Marathon for a further five years, extending a partnership first established in 2014 through to at least 2031, as reported by Business Plus.
The renewal was announced to coincide with the 2026 event, held on 31 May in Dublin, which attracted 30,000 participants and sold out within 48 hours of tickets becoming available, reflecting sustained demand for one of Ireland's largest participation events.
Since Vhi first came on board as title sponsor, hundreds of thousands of women have taken part in the annual event, raising millions of euro for charities across Ireland.
Vhi Group chief executive Brian Walsh said the extension reflected the company's commitment to the event and its purpose. "This long-term partnership extension is a reflection of our commitment to this event which continues to grow from strength to strength," he said. "The atmosphere around Dublin on race day is incredible, and we're very excited to continue working closely with the Women's Mini Marathon team to deliver many more days like last Sunday."
David O'Leary, general manager of the Women's Mini Marathon, welcomed the renewal and pointed to the event's momentum. "This year's Vhi Women's Mini Marathon sold out within 48 hours, demonstrating the huge passion and appetite that exists," he said. "We're looking forward to working closely with Vhi over the coming years to tap into that passion and continue to grow and develop the event."
The sponsorship aligns with Vhi's broader focus on promoting health and wellbeing among its members and the wider public, with Walsh noting that the event supports the company's purpose of helping people live longer, stronger, healthier lives.
In addition to Vhi, the Mini Marathon's current sponsor and partner roster includes Dublin City Council, Intersport Elverys, Leapmotor Ireland, EVOKE, Spin 1038, Citizen, Njuko, iDonate, Topflight and Drivalia, illustrating the scale of commercial interest the event attracts across multiple sectors.
The five-year commitment provides organisational stability for the event and positions Vhi as a long-term anchor partner at a time when multi-year sponsorship renewals are increasingly used by brands to signal sustained investment in community and health-focused platforms.
