Tattersalls Ireland renews Treo Eile sponsorship with €10,000 prize fund for 2026 series

Tattersalls Ireland has confirmed its continued sponsorship of the Treo Eile Showing Pathway Series for 2026, backing the fourth consecutive year of the initiative with a €10,000 prize fund designed to showcase the versatility and potential of former racehorses as riding horses beyond the track.

Thoroughbred Daily News reported that the series will feature qualifiers across Ireland beginning at Midleton Agricultural Show on 25 May, with the final taking place at the Tattersalls Ireland July Show on 26 July, marking the first time the series finale will be hosted on Tattersalls Ireland's own grounds.

Simon Kerins, CEO of Tattersalls Ireland, said the Showing Pathway Series continues to go from strength to strength, demonstrating the versatility of the thoroughbred beyond the racetrack, and noted that each year the series produces great stories of retraining and partnership between horse and rider, which the organisation is very proud to support.

Kerins added that hosting the final at the Tattersalls Ireland July Show gives the organisation the opportunity to showcase the success of the retraining pathway to a wider audience, and that they look forward to making the final a highlight of the July Show.

Anne O'Connor, senior executive officer at Treo Eile, said the series has established its place in the showing calendar, expressing gratitude to Tattersalls Ireland for their unwavering commitment to racehorse aftercare and welcoming both new and returning participants to the shows throughout the summer.

Treo Eile is Ireland's national racehorse retraining organisation, operating under Horse Racing Ireland to support the welfare and second careers of former racehorses across the country.
