SteelPhalt, the Rotherham-based division of environmental services company Harsco Environmental, has extended its shirt sponsorship of Rotherham Titans Rugby Club for the 2026/27 season, as reported by the Rotherham Advertiser, continuing a commercial relationship that has been in place for more than five years.

The renewal comes as Rotherham Titans celebrate promotion back into Level 2 English Championship Rugby Union, adding further significance to the continued partnership between the club and one of its longest-standing local backers.

Harsco Environmental first became associated with the Titans more than half a decade ago and also holds the naming rights to a bar at the club's home ground on Clifton Lane. In 2024, to mark the club's centenary year, Harsco confirmed it would take on the official shirt sponsorship, with the main shirt sponsorship now sitting with the SteelPhalt division for the season ahead.

Carl Brown, Harsco Steel Mills UK operations director, said the club held a special place within the local community. "Rotherham Titans is such a fantastic club and community with unbelievable fans and people associated with the club," he said. "We are extremely proud to continue our support in 2026/27 and I'm sure it will be an exciting season, especially with the local Doncaster Knights derby to look forward to."

SteelPhalt produces high-performance asphalt products from slag generated by the region's steel industry, with a product range including SteelStop, SteelSurf, SteelPave and SteelFlow. The company's products are designed to deliver high skid resistance, improving road safety for drivers and pedestrians while maintaining performance across the full life of the road surface and avoiding both quarried materials and the landfill of residual slag.

The sponsorship reinforces a pattern of locally rooted industrial businesses using sport partnerships to build community visibility in the regions where they operate, with SteelPhalt's identity as a Rotherham-based manufacturer directly aligned with the club's local heritage and fanbase.

The deal demonstrates how businesses embedded in regional industrial ecosystems can leverage rugby sponsorship to strengthen brand recognition and deepen ties with the communities that support their operations.
