Louth GAA has entered a sponsorship partnership with Viatel Technology Group and Digiweb to support the county’s Senior, Minor and Under 20 men’s teams through social media sponsorship. The agreement underlines the increasing importance of digitally led sponsorship activation in sport, where audience engagement, content visibility and supporter reach are becoming more commercially significant.

The Irish Independent reported that the partnership will provide social media sponsorship across the three squads, helping to strengthen engagement with supporters while increasing visibility for players and county activities. The arrangement also broadens brand exposure opportunities for the sponsors through Louth GAA’s growing digital audience.

Digiweb, founded in Dundalk, has expanded into a national broadband provider and holds more than 8,000 reviews on Trustpilot. Both Digiweb and Viatel operate as Guaranteed Irish companies, aligning the partnership with broader commitments to local enterprise, regional investment and community-based initiatives.

The sponsorship forms part of Viatel’s wider involvement in Gaelic games and sports infrastructure. The company has supported connectivity requirements at venues including Gaelic Grounds, Pearse Stadium and Croke Park, reflecting the increasing role of digital systems in broadcasting, operations, analytics and fan engagement.

“We are incredibly proud to support Louth GAA, an organisation that represents the passion and pride of its community,” said Damien McCann, managing director, Viatel Communications Services. He added: “As sport continues to evolve, the role of high-capacity, resilient connectivity is more important than ever from performance environments to bringing games to audiences everywhere.”

Bob Dohney, communications officer for Louth GAA, said the sponsorship would support teams across multiple levels while helping strengthen supporter engagement as the organisation progresses infrastructure ambitions, including a planned new stadium in Dundalk.
