Honda appoints Pro Honda as title sponsor for LCR MotoGP team
Honda has confirmed a sponsorship agreement with its LCR MotoGP team, naming Pro Honda—its global oil and chemical brand—as title sponsor for the 2026 season.
The partnership introduces a second team entry, Pro Honda LCR, alongside the existing CASTROL Honda LCR, expanding the brand’s visibility in MotoGP.
Pro Honda LCR will feature Diogo Moreira of Brazil, 2025 Moto2 World Champion, while Johann Zarco of France will continue with CASTROL Honda LCR. The move follows Pro Honda’s debut in MotoGP liveries at the 2024 season finale and selective wildcard appearances in 2025.
The sponsorship underlines Honda’s strategy of linking its commercial product performance with motorsport technologies. Pro Honda is positioned as a brand where engineering honed under extreme racing conditions feeds back into consumer vehicle products, enhancing credibility and brand trust.
Kotaro Shimizu, Honda Executive Officer, said the partnership builds on trust with LCR and HRC, supporting rider performance and showcasing Pro Honda’s technology globally. LCR CEO Lucio Cecchinello highlighted the alignment of competitive performance and reliability as a core objective of the partnership.
The deal also reinforces Honda’s long-term investment in global motorsport branding, using MotoGP as a high-performance platform to promote technical expertise and engage with an international audience.
For Honda, this sponsorship allows the company to combine product marketing with visible sporting performance, while deepening its motorsport footprint in Europe and Asia. It reflects a trend of integrating brand engineering excellence directly into elite racing platforms to amplify authenticity and consumer impact.
The Pro Honda LCR entry will compete in the full 2026 MotoGP season, showcasing Honda’s technological expertise and enhancing brand recognition among global racing fans.
