Industry NewsHockey Ireland signs three-year underage sponsorship deal with Grinds360
Hockey Ireland has announced a three-year multi-team sponsorship partnership with Grinds360, Ireland's largest online grinds platform, making the education company an official sponsor of Ireland's underage national hockey teams across both the boys' and girls' programmes.
Sport for Business reported that the agreement is designed to support the continued development of emerging talent within the national pathway, bringing together sport and academic development in a partnership that reflects a growing trend in Irish sport towards sponsors rooted in education and personal development.
Richard Fahey, CEO of Hockey Ireland, said the organisation is delighted to welcome Grinds360 as a partner of the underage national teams, noting that their expertise and commitment to student success align strongly with the ambition to develop world-class athletes and build a sustainable future for Irish hockey, and that the partnership will support young players as they progress through the pathway.
A representative of Grinds360 said the company is proud to partner with Hockey Ireland and support the next generation of Irish hockey players, describing the collaboration as a great fit for both organisations and expressing a commitment to contributing to the development and success of the talented athletes involved.
The three-year structure of the deal covers multiple age-grade squads and is designed to give both parties the time to build meaningful programming around the dual priorities of athletic and academic achievement.
The partnership is notable as an example of a non-endemic sponsor entering youth sport, with education platforms representing an increasingly credible category for national governing bodies operating youth pathway programmes.
Hockey Ireland is the national governing body for field hockey across all 32 counties of Ireland, governing approximately 168 clubs and 280 schools through its branch network.
