Industry NewsGrant UK sponsors Chippenham Youth Galaxy Girls team
The under-11 Galaxy Girls, part of FC Chippenham Youth, have secured two years of sponsorship from heating manufacturer Grant UK, giving the Wiltshire youth team backing for kit and equipment as it enters the 2026/27 season under a company sustainability programme aimed at encouraging the development of young female footballers while strengthening community links. The sponsorship, covering the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons, builds on Grant UK's Kick the Carbon Grassroots Community Sustainability Programme, which the manufacturer runs to support local sports clubs alongside its wider push into renewable and low-carbon heating products.
Grant UK is the UK arm of Grant Engineering, a heating appliance and renewables manufacturer founded in 1978 in Birr, Co Offaly, Ireland, where the group's global headquarters, manufacturing and R&D operations remain. Grant UK was established in 1996 and has operated from Devizes, Wiltshire since 2003, supplying oil-fired condensing boilers, air source heat pumps and other renewable heating systems across the UK market.
FC Chippenham Youth is a Wiltshire grassroots football club established in 1974, now fielding more than 500 members across teams in all age groups.
The sponsorship channels support through an existing corporate sustainability programme rather than a standalone community grant, tying a single youth team's kit funding to a broader Kick the Carbon initiative the company already runs across grassroots sport as part of its wider environmental and community commitments.
Grant UK head of internal sales and marketing Anna Wakefield said supporting local youth clubs has always been something the company is proud to do, describing the Galaxy Girls sponsorship as one of the ways Grant UK gives back to the local community.
Galaxy Girls coach Elliot Noyes said the club was incredibly grateful for the support, noting that sponsorship of this kind makes a huge difference to grassroots teams by helping provide the kit, equipment and opportunities needed to keep players developing together.
For the sector, the deal illustrates how manufacturers increasingly frame small-scale grassroots sponsorship within named sustainability or community programmes rather than as one-off local goodwill gestures, giving the sponsorship a stated policy rationale, encouraging girls' participation in football, beyond simple brand visibility on kit.
