Industry NewsGalgorm Collection signs inaugural North West 200 sponsorship ahead of May race week
Northern Ireland hospitality group Galgorm Collection has confirmed its first-ever sponsorship of the Briggs Equipment North West 200, aligning one of the province's largest hospitality employers with an internationally renowned road race that draws tens of thousands of spectators to the Causeway Coast each year.
Love Ballymena reported that the 2026 event runs from 4 to 9 May, with Galgorm Collection's involvement framed as a strategic investment in a major sporting event with proven economic reach across the region's hospitality, tourism and retail sectors.
Colin Johnston, CEO of Galgorm Collection, said Northern Ireland has a rich and proud history with road racing and that heritage is exactly what drew the company to the North West 200, adding that supporting economic development in the communities where the group operates is central to what it does, and that the event delivers real, tangible benefits for local businesses, tourism and the wider region.
Leigh Heggarty, director of business development at Galgorm Collection, said the team is genuinely excited to be part of the event and looks forward to attending in the weeks ahead, wishing organisers and riders the best of luck.
Race director Mervyn White welcomed the new sponsorship, noting that the race has been part of the fabric of Northern Irish life for almost a century and that Galgorm Collection's involvement will help deliver a memorable world-class event while generating a significant economic boost for the area.
The partnership forms part of Galgorm Collection's broader community engagement strategy, which spans charitable initiatives, educational partnerships and ongoing collaboration with schools, clubs and organisations across Northern Ireland.
The group's portfolio includes hotels, resorts, restaurants and golf experiences, with operations concentrated across the North Antrim and wider Northern Ireland region.
