Ei Electronics has signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with Munster Rugby, giving the Shannon-based electronics manufacturer sustained European visibility through right-sleeve branding on the senior men's and women's jerseys between now and the 2030/31 season. Munster's jerseys will carry the branding across all URC and European fixtures for both squads. Munster Rugby head of commercial and marketing Dave Kavanagh said the province was delighted to partner with such a successful Irish company, adding that the deal would bring the Ei Electronics brand to European audiences through both squads' jerseys.

Ei Electronics is an Irish electronics manufacturer founded in 1988 and headquartered in Shannon, Co Clare, employing 1,100 people locally and a further 250 across overseas subsidiaries. The company designs and manufactures smoke alarm and sensor systems, with more than 100 million of its devices in use worldwide.

Munster Rugby is one of Ireland's four professional rugby provinces, competing in the United Rugby Championship from Thomond Park and Musgrave Park as part of the IRFU's provincial structure.

The deal covers both the men's and women's senior squads on equal jersey terms, a structure Sport for Business has described as precisely the type of partnership professional rugby needs more of: long-term, locally relevant and attached to both teams rather than the men's side alone.

Ei Electronics founder and chairman Mick Guinee said the company had spent several years seeking the right opportunity to sponsor its provincial team, and that as an Irish company based in Shannon with employees drawn from across Clare, Limerick, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford, it was proud to support Munster Rugby.

The agreement lands in a season of heightened commercial activity around the URC's four Irish provinces, adding a locally rooted manufacturer's sleeve deal to a jersey portfolio that already includes Munster's adidas kit partnership, extended for a fifth time in 2025.

For the sector, the deal illustrates how established indigenous Irish manufacturers use regional identity, drawing explicitly on employees from across the wider Munster catchment area, as the commercial rationale for long-term sponsorship, rather than national reach or broadcast exposure figures alone.
