Clean Cut Meals has agreed a three-year sponsorship partnership with the Gaelic Players Association and the Gaelic Athletic Association, becoming the Official GAA/GPA Ready Meals Partner. The agreement reinforces how sponsorship in Irish sport is increasingly centred on performance support, wellbeing and lifestyle services aligned with athlete needs.

The partnership was announced by the GPA and GAA, with new research commissioned alongside the deal indicating that time pressures are shaping dietary habits for both elite athletes and the wider public. Findings showed that 74% of intercounty players identify lack of time as the biggest barrier to eating well, while more than 80% incorporate ready-to-heat meals into their diets.

Founded in Galway, Clean Cut Meals supplies chef-prepared, high-protein ready meals through nationwide retail channels including SuperValu and Centra. The company said the sponsorship aligns with its focus on supporting busy lifestyles through convenient nutrition products without compromising ingredient quality or nutritional value.

“We’re delighted to come on board with the GAA/GPA as the Official Ready Meals Partner,” said Clean Cut Meals co-founder Micheál Dyer. He added: “What this research shows is that many people are under real time pressure when it comes to food.”

GPA chief executive Tom Parsons said the partnership would support inter-county player welfare and development, noting that nutrition remains a central element of elite sporting performance.

Peter McKenna, commercial director at the GAA, described Clean Cut Meals as an exciting Irish success story whose focus on quality, convenience and nutrition aligns with player and member needs.
