Centra launches 2026 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship campaign with Sharpshooter competition

Centra Ireland has officially launched its sponsorship of the 2026 All-Ireland GAA Senior Hurling Championship, now in its 17th consecutive year as the longest-serving sponsor of the competition, alongside the return of its GAA Sharpshooter Competition as the centrepiece of this year's community activation.

Sport for Business reported that the launch took place at St Vincent's GAA Club in Dublin and was attended by prominent hurling figures including Brian Hayes, Noel McGrath, Paddy Deegan and Conor Burke, with Cork's Patrick Horgan, the Championship's all-time leading points scorer with a career tally of 32-683, returning to front the Sharpshooter initiative.

The competition targets children aged 8 to 12, inviting participants to collect a Sharpshooter target sticker from participating Centra stores, place it on their club's ball wall and upload their score online. Winners will secure a €1,000 prize for their local club and the opportunity for their team to play at the 2026 Hurling for Cancer Research charity match.

Rita Kirwan, director of marketing at Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland, said Centra has proudly supported the All-Ireland GAA Hurling Senior Championship since 2010 and that the partnership reflects the brand's deep-rooted commitment to local communities, noting that Centra retailers support approximately 1,000 GAA clubs nationwide to the value of over €1.5 million annually.

GAA president Jarlath Burns said Centra's continued commitment to the Championship is a testament to its support for Gaelic games at every level, and that the Sharpshooter Competition is a wonderful initiative that will inspire young players across the country to showcase and sharpen their skills.
