Industry NewsBenetti Menswear renews RTÉ Irish Open sponsorship
RTÉ has announced Benetti Menswear as sponsor of its 2026 Amgen Irish Open coverage for a sixth consecutive year, giving the Irish menswear brand continued visibility around one of the biggest events on the Irish sporting calendar as it strengthens its established alignment with the tournament. The sponsorship, brokered by The Engine Room, includes sponsorship stings across coverage on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player and digital takeovers on rte.ie. The tournament runs from 10 to 13 September at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, Co Clare, featuring players including Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Jon Rahm, with RTÉ broadcasting more than 20 hours of live coverage.
Benetti Menswear is an Irish-designed menswear brand offering tailoring, casualwear, footwear and accessories through independent retailers nationwide, and serves as official tailor to the FAI. The company does not publicly disclose turnover.
RTÉ is Ireland's national public service broadcaster, funded through the television licence fee and commercial revenue generated by RTÉ Commercial, which negotiates sponsorship across its television and digital properties.
The renewal extends one of RTÉ Commercial's longer-running sponsorship relationships, with Benetti first coming on board in 2021 and now entering a sixth consecutive year backing the broadcaster's Irish Open coverage, and adds to a growing list of Irish consumer brands using the tournament's broadcast reach to build long-term association.
RTÉ Commercial digital partnerships manager John Spain said Benetti had become a valued commercial partner over the past six years, and that the broadcaster was thrilled to have its continued support in bringing the tournament's action to Irish audiences live from Doonbeg.
Benetti's Vincent Nally said golf's huge following in Ireland made the tournament a fantastic platform for the brand, and that as an Irish menswear company, Benetti was proud to align with major sporting occasions and support RTÉ's coverage nationwide.
For the sector, the deal illustrates how Irish consumer brands use multi-year broadcast sponsorship of a single flagship event, rather than shorter campaigns across several properties, to build sustained association with a tournament's prestige and its aligned values of quality and performance.
