Industry NewsAddleshaw Goddard becomes title sponsor of Dublin Gallery Weekend
Addleshaw Goddard has become title sponsor of Dublin Gallery Weekend under a new three-year partnership, giving the UK-headquartered international law firm's fast-growing Irish arm sustained visibility at one of Ireland's leading contemporary art events at a time firms are increasingly using cultural sponsorship to build local profile. The 2026 edition, presented by the Contemporary Art Gallery Association (CAGA) and produced by SoSimpatico, runs from 5 to 8 November across exhibitions, artist talks, art trails and workshops. Last year's edition featured more than 60 free events across more than 40 galleries and cultural institutions citywide.
Addleshaw Goddard is a UK-headquartered international law firm with 21 offices worldwide, reporting global revenue of £551 million in 2025. Its Irish arm, based in Dublin since a 2022 merger with Eugene F Collins, has recorded 45% revenue growth and now employs more than 150 staff.
CAGA is the Contemporary Art Gallery Association, representing Ireland's private contemporary art galleries and organising Dublin Gallery Weekend, a free citywide event now in its fourth year that drew more than 40 participating galleries and cultural institutions in 2025. The organisation does not publicly disclose sponsorship-specific financial terms.
The deal continues a pattern of Irish law firms using cultural sponsorship to build brand association beyond legal services, following Matheson's recent partnership with Sample-Studios to support digital art in Ireland, and mirrors similar arts sponsorship activity among professional services firms competing for visibility in Dublin's corporate and cultural circles.
Addleshaw Goddard Ireland head Mark Walsh said the firm was delighted to support a programme that champions creativity, innovation and ambition, while showcasing the best of contemporary Irish culture.
CAGA chair John Daly described the three-year commitment as a landmark agreement, saying it would help the event broaden audiences, support artists and continue growing Dublin Gallery Weekend as one of Ireland's leading cultural events.
The timing coincides with Addleshaw Goddard's rapid Irish expansion since its 2022 market entry, positioning the firm's sponsorship spend as part of a broader push to raise its profile among the corporate, arts and cultural networks that intersect with its target client base in Dublin.
